Appleton Estate is the premier and oldest rum distillery in the land of Blue Mountain Coffee and Bob Marley, Jamaica. Established in 1749, the Appleton Estate Rum runs deep into Jamaican rum-distilling's unique customs and traditions. The expert Master Blender, Joy Spence, can educate you on the finer points of their rum, including the aging process in oak barrels spanning anywhere from four to fifty years. Appleton Estate 1999 Hearts Collection is a special limited edition, distilled in Forsyth Pot Still and aged for 21 years before being corked up at an impressive 63% ABV. Consisting of an admirable blend of 12 casks, this limited release was tropically aged in former bourbon barrels. It shows off flavors of herbal notes of minty licorice and anise and makes for a refined yet super tasty sip.

Tasting Notes

This mahogany-colored spirit opens with wood, tropical fruit, spice, and pineapple notes on the nose. Warm and complex flavors are featured on the palate in the form of minty licorice and star anise. The finish is medium-length and semisweet, with an appropriate complexity and balance.
