Inspired by the 18th-century distiller Don Juancho Nieto Meléndez — also known as El Ambassador— this luxurious Venezuelan rum is a distinctive blend of 12-year-old 100% pot-still rums. Unlike the standard expressions in the Diplomático stable, this premium rum is given an extra two years in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, in addition to is rest in ex-bourbon barrels. Bottled at a slightly higher proof, this luxury rum is presented in an elegant wooden cask featuring an 18-carat gold closure.

Tasting Notes

Rich, deep notes of caramel, toffee and gingerbread notes echo all throughout the nose and palate. The finish is lingering and elegant, with notes of cocoa, clove, allspice, leather and citrus peel.
