Mezcal de Leyendas Grandes Leyendas

is the first release in this exclusive series that honors great maestro mezcaleros over the age of 70. It's created by Maestro Mezcalero Don Anastacio who has over 60 years of mezcal-making experience and began learning the art of the craft at a tender age of 12 years from his father. This artisanal mezcal blanco is crafted from agave cupreata that grows wild in the deciduous forests in northern Guerrero. The process begins with fresh local stream water and the agave is crushed by hand, fermented in small oak wooden vats before distillation in copper alembic stills. The result are mellow aromas of mature tropical fruits, orange blossom, and light smoke that develop into rich flavors of bittersweet chocolate and orange peel on the palate. Mezcal de Leyendas is focused on bringing artisanal mezcals using rare and unique agaves from different regions within Mexico.
