Mezcal de Leyendas Reservas de la Biosfera

is part of a special collection, dedicated to Mexico's national parks. This is the first release in the series, crafted by the Ortega family, which brings together three generations of maestro mezcaleros working side by side. This artisanal mezcal blanco is made from two types of agave: marmorata and macrocantha, that grow in Tehuacán, Puebla. It's double distilled in copper pot stills and bottled at 96 proof, delivering a smooth tasting experience with mineral saline and slightly peaty notes, rounded by a very long finish. Mezcal de Leyendas is focused on bringing artisanal mezcals using rare and unique agaves from different regions within Mexico. Instead of focusing on one particular type, their aim is to use the most prevalent agaves from each region allowing them to guide the consumer across the entire DO of mezcal.

Tasting Notes

Greeting with aromas of sweet cooked agave and salty sea water, the palate delivers more mineral and slightly peaty notes, rounded by a very long finish.
