Old Carter 13 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon #85

Founded by husband and wife Mark and Sherri Carter, Old Carter Whiskey Co. is focused on bringing super high-quality and unique small-batch straight rye and bourbon whiskeys to discerning drinkers. The couple started in the wine business, producing fine wine in the Napa Valley. The Carter Cellars Cabernets have garnered numerous awards and has led them towards whiskey. Their whiskey journey started when they joined a friend from Kentucky in resurrecting the long-absent Kentucky Owl bourbon brand. By the time the brand was sold in 2017, the couple had grown too fond of the spirit to simply let go, diving straight into sourcing, producing, and blending whiskey in Kentucky.

Tasting Notes

The nose is heavy, rich, oaky, and smokey with an ever present sweetness. The palate is creamy and sweet, while the finish is relatively long.
