Orphan Barrel 26 Year Old Muckety-Muck Single Grain Scotch Whisky

As the name implies, Orphan Barrel Whiskey Co. is all about the search for orphaned barrels of exceptional and rare whiskey. Realizing that once each of these whiskeys is gone, it's gone forever, they take the utmost care with each release. Orphan Barrel Muckety-Muck features the same whisky that was in the previous Muckety-Muck releases, except this year's expression has spent an additional year in its cask. It's a single-grain Scotch whisky that was distilled at the Port Dundas Distillery, its name a reference to a piggery that once stood beside the distillery. At one point it was the largest distillery in Scotland having operated for 2 centuries before closing its doors in 2010.

Tasting Notes

The nose is sweet with the caramel and fudge aromas balanced by berry and fresh fruit. The palate is oaky, light, and fruity with toasted oak, butterscotch, and vanilla notes that linger on the finish.
