Thomas Handy Sazerac 2018 Straight Rye Whiskey
Buffalo Trace's revered Antique Collection is home to several ultra-premium whiskey expressions that have garnered countless awards over the years. Thomas Handy Sazerac is named after a New Orleans bartender who was the first to use rye whiskey in a Sazerac cocktail. Always bottled directly from the barrel, it's a series of bold and rich whiskey that's always uncut and unfiltered. The 2018 release was crafted with barrels, aged over 6 years in warehouses I and L. Distilled in 2012 from Minnesota rye, Kentucky corn, and North Dakota malted barley, the straight rye was bottled uncut and unfiltered at 128.8 proof. It won the coveted Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2018, the same year it was bottled.

Tasting Notes
The nose is sweet, floral, and fruity, with aromas of dark fruit, raisin, baking spice, and oak. The palate is spicy with allspice, rye spice, and baking spice aromas of cinnamon and clove. The finish is equally spicy and oaky with lingering baking spices and a touch of pine.
