Released in 2021, Woodford Reserve Five-Malt Stouted Mash Whiskey is the 17th release in their acclaimed Master's Collection that started in 2006. Master Distiller Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall looked to the distillery's rich history as well as their own interests for inspiration when creating this unique whiskey. "Our distillery building was constructed by Irish stonemasons in 1838. That, plus the fact that we distill in the 'Irish' style with triple pot stills inspired us to mash and distill an Irish style stout beer," said McCall. Tasting Notes

The nose is malty and sweet with toasted nuts, milk chocolate, orange, baking spices, and a touch of mint. There's an oakiness throughout with hints of cherries as well. The palate is equally malty with hazelnut, cocoa, fruit, spice, and a touch of citrus. The malty notes linger on the finish with a touch of chocolate.
